5 Canada St LLC ("we," "us," or "our") owns and operates Lake View Inn (the "Property") and the website lakeviewinn-lakegeorge.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from guests and website visitors, how we use it, and the choices available to you — including our text messaging (SMS) program.

1. Information We Collect

Information you give us directly. When you check in as a guest, we collect your name, phone number, and room assignment. If an organization or third party pays on your behalf, we also keep a record of that payer's name and the amount they paid.

Payment information. When you pay rent online, your payment is processed by Stripe and/or PayPal. We do not receive or store your full card number, bank account number, or Venmo/Cash App login credentials — those are handled entirely by our payment processors under their own privacy policies. We keep a record of the amount paid, the date, and which payment method was used so we can apply it to your balance.

Text messages. If you provide a phone number, we use it to send you the messages described in Section 3, and to receive replies you send us.

Website information. If you visit lakeviewinn-lakegeorge.com, our hosting provider may automatically log standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit, for security and troubleshooting purposes.

Property access information. For guest safety and accountability, our door locks may record the times a code was used. We do not use this data for any purpose other than property security and resolving disputes about access.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Assign and manage your room and rental balance
• Process and confirm rent payments
• Send you the reminders, receipts, and notices described in Section 3
• Communicate with you about your stay, including responding to questions
• Maintain the security of the Property
• Comply with legal and recordkeeping obligations

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your phone number or payment history for advertising.

3. Our Text Messaging (SMS) Program

Consent. By providing your phone number at check-in and signing our registration form, you agree to receive text messages from Lake View Inn related to your stay, including rent due reminders, payment confirmations, receipts, and late notices.

Message frequency. Message frequency varies depending on your payment activity, but is typically 1–4 messages per week while you are a current guest.

Message and data rates. Message and data rates may apply, based on your mobile carrier plan.

Opt-out. You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. After you opt out, we will send one final confirmation message and then stop texting you. Opting out does not opt you out of your obligation to pay rent — speak with the property manager about alternative ways to receive payment reminders.

Help. Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or contact us using the information above.

Supported carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Consent is not a condition of any purchase or rental. You do not have to agree to receive text messages in order to rent a room from us; you may instead choose to receive payment reminders and receipts in person or by another method at your request.

4. Who We Share Information With

We share information only as needed to run the property and are not in the business of selling your data:

• Payment processors (Stripe, PayPal) — to process rent payments
• Messaging providers (Twilio) — to deliver text messages
• Smart lock providers (Seam, Yale) — to manage door access codes
• Our own staff — the property manager and front-desk staff who need this information to run the Property
• Third-party payers — if an organization or individual other than you pays your rent, we may share your room, balance, and payment status with them for the limited purpose of confirming and applying that payment
• Government agencies or law enforcement — only where required by law, or to protect the safety of guests or staff

5. Data Retention

We retain guest and payment records for as long as needed for our business, accounting, and legal recordkeeping purposes, and then delete or archive them consistent with applicable law.

6. Your Choices

• Text messages: Reply STOP at any time, as described in Section 3.
• Corrections: If any information we hold about you is incorrect, contact us using the information above and we will correct it.
• Questions or deletion requests: Contact us using the information above. We will respond to reasonable requests consistent with our legal obligations, including recordkeeping requirements tied to rental and payment history.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, including limiting access to staff who need it and relying on payment processors who maintain their own security standards for handling payment data. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent changes. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
